Yoga nidra, which means 'sleep of the yogi', is a meditation practice that induces a state of non-sleep deep rest. iRest (Integrative Restoration) is a modern adaptation of this ancient meditation practice. iRest is a trauma-informed, secular practice.
In iRest, you are guided through a structured process of attending to body sensations, the breath, feelings/emotions and cognitions. Throughout the practice, you are cultivating present-moment awareness and a stance of welcoming internal states as they are.
Dr. Kutz delivers iRest as a group meditation practice. In addition, she offers iRest individually in the format of dyads. Dyads are interactive meditations in which you can explore an emotion, belief or pattern that you are working with in your life.
